Mikey, favorite drink was icy cold chocolate milk and Hershey Syrup. He would buy a gallon of milk and put in the freezer for his chocolate milk. He could drink a gallon of milk in a day 1/2. I used to tell him we need a cow...
His favorite ice cream was Rockyroad. He loved to grill-out Riblets and Fajita's or Chicken. But he loved to open the patio door and grill right there on the second floor of our patio, which was a no-no. But he did it anyway.
His favorite birds were the hummingbirds and the seagulls. Mickey loved to feed the seagulls and loved to watch the hummingbirds. He loved the wind twister and the chimes we put up on the balcony.
Mickey favorite neighbor was Allen. He lived right downstairs just below us. He also like to grill by the pool. We would take our music down there and grill, swim and listen to our favorite music. He loved chocolate candy, any kind.
We loved watching movies together. Eating popcorn and rockyroad ice cream. His favorite movies were Titanic, Its A Wonderful Life, and Multiplicity.
Mickey's song to me was Suddenly by Billy Ocean. He dedicated that song to me from the first time we met. Mine was My Heart Will Go On by Celine Deon.
When I met him he would wake up grouchy sometimes. Not long after that he never woke up without a smile on his face everyday. He would wake up smiling, singing.. "Wake up ..wake up ..you sleepy head. There's a birdy on your window seal saying wake up wake up you sleepy head.."
On Mickey's day off he would say, "Bubby, lets go, lets do something. The best things in life are free. Lets go for a walk." We walk the beach in the mornings. We would walk the beach at night after work. He loved the ocean. Mickey loved to go crabbing, fishing, swimming, boogie-boarding. The thing that made him feel closest to Heaven was playing the drums, by far, his first love
There are so many things I can share with you, so, many memories of us. There are so many people Mickey touched. He had so many friends. Childhood friends, he touched their lives. Many of our times were spent remembering his life. The times with his family. The times with his friends.
He told me of the time he put a frog in the coffee pot. That was quite a story. The Ruggudere Club... He said to me, "Your the only girl in the Ruggedere Club, Bubbies. Cuzz you go fishing with me and crabbing. Your not like others girls, you do things with me. Things I love to do."
He told me a fishing story that was near and dear to his heart. His grandfather took Mikey and a friend named, Tony out fishing. Tony was wearing Mikey's grandfather's boots. They were at the bank of the water, the boots were so big, Tony fell back in them hitting the ground. Mikey loved to share this story, because he loved his grandfather and his friend Tony.
He loved the time he lived in Santa Cruz California. Mickey spoke so often of Santa Cruz and a friend he had named David. He loved his brother dearly, he loved his brother in law just as dearly. But he always spoke of his sister with such love. Mickey always said, "She's my Angel here. My sister is an Angel. Mickey thought the world of her.
Mickey was my Peter Pan. He never lost that boyish spirit. He didn't want to either. He was such a carefree spirit. Living life for the moment. I didn't spend a lifetime with him. But, I shared a lifetime of so much love and so many good memories. I miss him and love him so much. Love Martha..
When Mikey was needed he was there..
Mikey took care of me thru 2 major surgeries and 62 staples. He was my nurse, and my cook. He cleaned, he worked, and still took very good care of me while I was sick, and I was sick for a while. He went to all my doctor's appointments with me . They say he changed when he met me. I was the lucky one . He took me by the hand into his life, his whole life.... all the memories of all his life from childhood on.. and with that I shared every emotion of his life. Michael had so much Love, and so much tenderness inside him. With every breath I take I carry him in my spirit. I will wait until the day we feel our spirits together again.
One time we were at one of my doctor's appointments and we saw this dog outside and he was a big dog but he looked really bad. We had eaten before my app. He took our food and tried to feed him. Mikey used the phone at the doctor's office, he called three different cities in the area and let them know there was an animal that needed help right away it broke his heart to see that dog like that. Mikey had everybody in the business offices coming out to see about this dog, He loved animals He said, "Muddyduck, people can tell you if they hurt or if someone else is hurting them. But, animals can't, they can't talk bubbies." Mikey had the biggest heart. He loved people. and he loved animals.
